Our expansive photograph collection contains 14,000 catalogued photographs; 12,000 slides; family photo albums; the personal collections of Ben Gelman, John W. Allen and Irvin Peithman; a large number of the former Murphysboro American Newspaper's photographs; and a collection containing scenes throughout Jackson County.  A large number of uncatalogued photographs remain in storage (volunteers are needed to catalogue these).
