#158 The Makanda Album

The Society is pleased to announce its newest publication, "The Makanda Album", compiled by Bob Morefield and the late Phoebe Cox. This 55-page book features historical images of, and newspaper articles about, Makanda's business district, churches, school, railroad depot, private residences and several disastrous events that occurred in the village. It also contains images from the surrounding area such as the Marlowe Motel, Boskydell, the Civilian Conservation Corps camp, Giant City Lodge and rock formations in Giant City Park.
